What Is Bitcoin Halving?

Bitcoin “half-cut” events have taken place several times before. However, what is a Bitcoin halving? How does this affect BTC itself?

The halving event on Bitcoin crypto is one of the best tactics formed by the number 1 crypto developer in the world.

Its main function is to reduce the inflation rate, which results in an increase in the price of Bitcoin itself, if the demand for it also increases.

As befits an economic law where demand and supply will affect the price or value, especially crypto.

So, the more the number of BTC, the more likely its value will decrease. Vice versa, the smaller the number of BTC, the value will increase.

Of course, this Bitcoin halving event had a lot of impact on both the crypto market, miners and crypto holders. The Foundation of the Bitcoin Blockchain Network

Before you understand what a Bitcoin halving is, you must first understand how the Bitcoin blockchain network works.

Blockchain as the technology that underlies BTC basically consists of a collection of several computers running the Bitcoin Core software and contains a history of Bitcoin transactions either in part or in whole.

This process is responsible for rejecting or approving transactions on the Bitcoin network. To do this, the computer that is the node in the blockchain will repeatedly check to make sure this transaction is valid.

Each transaction will be approved separately. This happens only if all the transactions in the block have been approved. After that, these transactions will be sent to the existing blockchain and broadcast to other nodes. The more computers or nodes added to the blockchain, the more stable and secure the process will be.

By the end of August 2022, there are an estimated 15,169 nodes running on Bitcoin. Although anyone can join the bitcoin network as a node, as long as they have storage for downloads of the entire blockchain and transaction history. However, not all affiliated nodes are BTC miners.

The Basics of Bitcoin Mining

Bitcoin mining is a process whereby people will use their computers to participate in processing or validating transactions on the bitcoin blockchain network. Bitcoin uses a system known as Proof-of-work (PoW). This means that miners must be able to provide evidence that they have a role in the transaction process in order to be rewarded.

This business or role includes the time and energy used to run computer hardware and software that is useful in completing complex calculations when the transaction process on the bitcoin blockchain takes place. Bitcoin halving is closely related to the world's largest crypto miner.

The meaning of miners in this case is not mining metal like in the real world. Instead, miners take part in solving mathematical problems and confirming the legitimacy of every transaction that takes place.

Then, the miner will add these transactions in the block and create a chain (chain) of transaction blocks that will form the blockchain. When this block is filled with transactions, miners will get a reward in the form of Bitcoin. Transactions with larger monetary values require more confirmation processes that guarantee their security.

What Is Bitcoin Halving?

Every 210,000 blocks have been mined the equivalent of once in 4 years, the rewards given to Bitcoin miners are cut in half.

The last Bitcoin Halving occurred on May 12, 2020, which reduced the number of Bitcoins in circulation, namely 900 BTC every day or 328,500 BTC per year, quoted from Blockchainmedia.

In 2009, the gain from mining Bitcoin was 50 BTC. After the first halving it was 25 BTC then 12.5 BTC. Then in May 2020 it was 6.25 BTC. So, at the fourth halving expected in 2024, the gain from Bitcoin miners is only 3.125 BTC. You can understand this event better through this infographic.

This system not only affects the amount of BTC in circulation but also keeps the Bitcoin value high until all BTC is scattered. This system will continue until 2140, when the limit of 21 million BTC is reached. When this happens, miners will get rewarded from transaction fees from users.

These rewards serve to maintain the role of the miners so they keep the blockchain and network processes running.

Halving Process Less Than 4 Years

In general, halving events take place once in 4 years. However, if you pay close attention, the event will occur less than the estimated time. The question is why did this happen? As it turns out, the Bitcoin mining algorithm will take 10 minutes (on average) to look for a new block. However, if the number of miners is greater, then the ability to carry out this process will be stronger and the time needed to search for new blocks will decrease.

This will be faster if the mining difficulty is reduced, due to certain events. For now, due to technological developments and the Bitcoin network environment, the average discovery of a new block can be done in just 9.5 minutes.

When Do Bitcoin Halvings Occur?

Halving events in Bitcoin are very important events in the crypto world, because the price of BTC will increase as their number decreases, historically. This event proved to increase the price of BTC massively. For example, in 2012, the price of Bitcoin rose from US$12 to US$1,207 in 2013.

The second halving event occurred in 2016 which made the Bitcoin price increase dramatically from US$647 to US$18,972 in 2017. However, in 2018 the price actually dropped to US$3,716. However, this halving event increased its value by 575 percent.

However, the last halving in 2020 was the most fantastic. Because the price of Bitcoin rose 461 percent from US $ 8,821 to US $ 63,233 which proves the increase in the value of BTC after the halving is consistent with the previous halving.

What Changes When a Bitcoin Halving Event Occurs?

In general, there are theories when Bitcoin halvings occur, namely:
Miner income halves -> inflation halves -> demand is higher -> prices increase -> miner incentives are still available although less but in the process the value of BTC increases

However, it is possible that after the halving the demand and price of BTC does not increase, so miners do not get any incentives. Finally, the rewards for completing transactions on the bitcoin blockchain are getting smaller, and the value of BTC is not high enough.

To prevent this, it turns out that bitcoin has its own way of dealing with it which can change the level of complexity to get the bitcoin reward.

The reduced level of difficulty or complexity certainly makes the effort and resources needed to confirm transactions lighter. So, miners will still get appropriate incentives. So, even though the amount of the prize is reduced, the mining process becomes easier and this tactic has proven successful.

For example, in 2017 to 2018 there was a bubble in Bitcoin which made its price rise to US$19,000 and fall to US$3,700. Its value fell quite drastically, but before the halving, the value of BTC was around US $ 650. So, the income of miners is still quite large.

However, from the system that has been running so far, it turns out that there are many things that affect market reactions and the price of bitcoin itself such as speculation, hype and volatility which makes it difficult to predict. The third halving event occurred during a pandemic and also a shift in regulations from various countries. As a result, bitcoin prices have become even more difficult to predict. Even so, many analysts predict that bitcoin will improve at the next halving, quoted from Blockchainmedia.

What is the Effect of Bitcoin Halvin?

Bitcoin halvings are major events and have a significant impact on various parties associated with the BTC network.

Investors
The bitcoin halving event is a breath of fresh air for investors. Because the value of BTC will increase by reducing the number of these coins which then has an impact on increasing demand.

This will make crypto trading increase drastically. However, the increase in value will vary depending on the conditions of the halving process itself.

Miner
For bitcoin miners, this halving event can be a problem in itself. Even though the value goes up, the amount of BTC itself will decrease drastically. This will make it difficult for small or individual miners because they have to compete with large mining organizations.

Based on research, the capacity of BTC miners is inversely proportional to the price. So, when the price of BTC increases the number of miners on the Bitcoin network decreases and vice versa. These bitcoin halvings not only increase the price of the crypto itself but also increase the probability of attacks on the bitcoin network by up to 51 percent. As the number of miners leaving this network increases, it makes the bitcoin blockchain less secure. Through the explanation above, you already understand what Bitcoin halving is as a whole. You can put these events to good use so you can earn bigger profits with BTC.

5 Best Crypto Mining Pools

What is Crypto Mining Pool?
Crypto Mining Pool is a pooled group of cryptocurrency miners that pool computing resources over a network. Mining results will be divided according to the proportion of each miner's power and processing.

Even though there are many crypto mining pools available out there to mine cryptocurrency, after we have selected and reviewed there are only 5 crypto mining pools that are the best and most trusted in terms of reward payments, network stability and security from hacker attacks.

How Miner Pools Work
The way a mining pool works is actually the same as mining crypto in general, which is different from mining pools, mining is done in groups. Each player will contribute process power to solve the block, if successful they will get a reward in the form of cryptocurrency. The returns will be divided equally for each miner who contributes according to the proportion of processing power for crypto mining.

There are also mining pools that require proof of work for crypto miners to be able to receive returns.

Mining in groups can be done by using a special device or joining a group of miners where there will be many miners and existing devices will be combined to increase their hashing results.

For example, in one pool install six mining devices, now each of them offers 335 MH/s, this can generate 2 gigahashes cumulative of mining power, which in turn can make the hash function process faster.

Who's Crypto Whale?

Crypto Whale has always been an interesting topic on social media, blog forums, websites, etc. Because their existence and activities are able to shake market dynamics, so that the ups and downs of crypto prices will always be associated with the activities of the whales. in this post I will try to explain about whales, who are the crypto whales and where do they trade?

What is a Crypto Whale?
Crypto whales are simply a term for a person or group of people/organizations who hold large amounts of cryptocurrency and have the ability to control the movement of the crypto market. So that volatility and liquidity in crypto is often influenced by the decisions of the whales. It could happen that a whale only has one type of crypto (eg only Bitcoin) or they also have several types of cryptocurrencies such as BNB, Solana, ADA, Ethereum etc.

Who is the Bitcoin Whale There are many crypto whales scattered out there, but in general they are anonymous, so it is difficult for us to know who the crypto whales are, but to make it easier we can group crypto whales into 4 groups, namely:

1. Crypto Exchange
The amount of crypto storage on crypto exchanges will always increase every day, either from profit or additional capital with their aim (crypto exchanges) increasing liquidity and increasing the amount of crypto in their trades. The accumulation of crypto on exchanges that occur over the years will become the center of crypto storage, so it is not surprising that crypto exchanges will become the first crypto whales such as Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, Okex, Bitfinex etc.

2. Institution
Many institutions keep their funds in the form of cryptocurrencies either as investments or as hedge funds. It is easier to identify institutions that are crypto whales, because in general they are broadcast on social media or disseminated through websites. Institutions classified as crypto whales are as follows: Grayscale, MicroStrategy Inc, Galaxy Digital Holdings, Tesla, Square etc.

3. Crypto Mining Pool
We would never have guessed that crypto mining pools are included in the group of crypto whales, we don't know for sure how much they mine, how much crypto they sell, and how much crypto they keep as a long-term investment. A year ago China was the largest Bitcoin mining company in the world, more than half of the Bitcoin in circulation was mined by China. Here are some trusted big Bitcoin mining pools such as: F2Pool, Antpool, Binance Pool, ViaBTC, BTC.com etc.

4. Individual
Individuals who are classified as whales are mostly early investors when buying Bitcoin at very cheap prices. and they keep it for years. Many new rich people were born from cryptocurrency such as: Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss (founder of Gemini exchange), Brian Armstrong, Sam Bankman-Fried, Chris Larsen, Michael Saylor etc. In general, individual whales are unknown, but when they sell Bitcoin in large quantities it will shake up the crypto market, causing a stir in the crypto world. The creator of Bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto is also very worthy of being classified as whales, because it is estimated that Satoshi has mined more than 1 million Bitcoins. Currently more Bitcoins are stagnant in wallets (not moving) to any address.

The Effect of Whales on Crypto Prices
The crypto whales not only store their crypto in their wallets and leave it for years, but there are also many whales who are active in crypto trading, so that it will always move the market price. Of course, because the whales hold large capital so they are able to control prices, whatever their activities, whether buying or selling, will affect the crypto market. Wise whales will certainly not immediately buy crypto in large quantities but they will use a macro buying strategy, where he buys crypto gradually where the price drops 1-3%, so that the effect of buying whales will not directly have a negative impact on the market.

Where the Whales Trade
Whales often use different methods to trade crypto, so each crypto transaction method used by whales will have a very different impact on market conditions. Here are the transaction methods that whales often use:

1. Over the counter (OTC)
Over th counter is trading outside the crypto exchange, the dealer (seller) will act as a market maker who determines the selling price, until the agreed price occurs. These market participants transact using telephone, email or electronic trading systems with large-scale transactions. This OTC trading method has almost no effect on the market price as it does not involve an exchange.

2. Wallet to Wallet
Over The Counter trades between whales often occur only when crypto is transferred from one wallet to another, so it is rarely known by the public and is private in nature, with almost no effect on market prices.

3. Wallet to Exchange
Currently, although there are many exchanges with high liquidity and able to pay large amounts, some exchanges have limited the number of transactions, For example, Coinbase has a purchase limit of up to $25,000 dollars per day. Kraken only allows us to withdraw/withdraw up to $2,500 per day and $20,000 per month. Circle has a withdrawal limit of up to $3,000 per week.

4. Exchange to Wallet
An exchange to a wallet is the opposite of a wallet transaction to an exchange, where the whales will withdraw large amounts of crypto to their wallet, if the exchange does not set a withdrawal limit then the supply will be greatly reduced if the assumption of a fixed number of requests then the price will rise.

5. Exchange to Exchange
It is possible that whales will also transact from one exchange to another, to get the price difference from their arbitrage trade, although the price difference is relatively small, but because whales trade in large quantities, they will get big profits too.

What Should I do When Crypto Price Drop?

Currently the price of crypto is continuously falling, i.e. from the end of November 2021 to Dec 08,2021, The crypto market fell from US$2.6 trillion to US$2 trillion, so as much as $600 billion of market value has been lost in a very fast time, Bitcoin price currently it is $48k while Ether costs $4,225.50, but I think volatility or price correction in cryptocurrencies is very reasonable, because no crypto price continues to rise without correction. It is not surprising that what happened in the past will also happen again in the future. Many crypto-loving friends always do the opposite. When the market is in a bull run, everyone doesn't want to miss out on buying crypto. But when the market corrected, everyone was worried about getting in, even rushing to sell a lot of their crypto. To overcome this, it's a good idea for traders to start building a solid understanding of risk management. Another thing, continue to monitor the latest market developments from trusted media. As a result, with all the information we collect, it will give us a strong signal about when is the best time to enter and exit the market.

Simple and Effective Way
Here are 3 simple and effective ways that you can do when crypto prices drop:

1. Buying Crypto Regularly
Just a suggestion, when the crypto asset market is experiencing a decline, that is the right moment to add potential crypto assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance Coin, Solana etc. The best way, simple and can be done by anyone, is dollar cost averaging (DCA) aka saving Bitcoin. The trick is to do it regularly, for example, at the beginning of every month you buy Bitcoin with the same USD value. The purchase does not consider whether the price is high or low, because the main goal is to accumulate as much potential BTC or crypto as possible over a long period of time.

2. Staking and Earning Interest
If you hold crypto with a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism like Cardano, you can store it in a PoS-enabled wallet or exchange. Currently, there are many exchanges and wallets that provide interest if you store crypto, use this feature to earn interest on a monthly basis. So basically we must have long-term goals and insights.

3. Trade Arbitration
When the crypto market weakens, you can also trade in cash-and-carry arbitrage. This type of arbitrage involves trading between the spot market and the derivatives market (eg futures). The trick is in the spot market you place a long or buy position. Whereas in the derivatives market you open a short position or sell. The profit is derived from the price difference between the two markets.

What's Shiba Inu?
Shiba Inu Coin is a cryptocurrency created in August 2020 by someone under the pseudonym Ryoshi. Shiba Inu is an ERC-20 token because it runs on the Ethereum blockchain network. In terms of availability, Shiba Inu coins have an abundant supply, which is up to 1 quadrillion or 1,000 trillion. As of October 28, 2021, Shiba Inu is recorded to have a market capitalization of US$41 billion (equivalent to Rp. 581 trillion), making it the ninth largest cryptocurrency in the world. Shiba Inu Price History Until Jan 30, 2021 Shiba Inu price 0 (zero). Since Jan 31, 2021 to $0.00000001 and continues to rise until the current price (Nov 03, 2021) becomes $0.00006429

Since reaching the highest ATH in October 2021, Shiba Inu has become one of the most attention-grabbing altcoins. The past year was an industry upswing that resulted in very high returns on investment for small altcoins like Shiba and promising projects like Solana. According to u today, the Shiba Inu was the cryptocurrency of the month of October due to a 1,000% increase in price at its peak hit on October 29. According to Watcher Guru, the $1,000 invested in Shiba Inu will now be worth $756 million. The price of a SHIB a year ago was around $0.0000000000072, according to CoinGecko. You can guess that even a $1 investment will give someone a return of around a million dollars. But realistically, only a few people have actually bought and held coins since October of the previous year.

All About Basic Attention Token (BAT)

What's Basic Attention Token (BAT)?
Basic Attention Token (BAT) is a cryptocurrency created with the aim of creating a virtuous cycle around digital advertising that is fair to users, publishers and advertisers. Running on the Ethereum (ETH) network and natively integrated in a dedicated web browser called Brave, BAT tokens can be exchanged between advertisers, publishers, and internet users based on their web activity, and are meant to streamline commerce between the three groups. Basic Attention Token developers believe that by tracking how users interact with digital advertising content and storing that information in a distributed ledger, they will be able to improve the digital advertising experience for advertisers, publishers and users.
Who is the Founder of Attention Token (BAT)?
The founder of Brave Software is Brendan Eich, whose resume includes the creation of the JavaScript programming language and co-founder of the Firefox web browser. In 2017, Brave completed an initial coin offering (ICO) for BAT, raising $35 million in 30 seconds by selling 1 billion BAT. At that time, 500 million BAT was reserved by Brave Software. Of that total, 200 million BAT was set aside for the Brave team, with 300 million BAT reserved for sale at a later date to promote the platform.

How does the Basic Attention Token (BAT) work?
All BAT transactions are settled on Ethereum, a public blockchain that allows developers to create and deploy cryptocurrencies and custom applications.
1. Brave Browser
BAT operates on a web browser called Brave, which was developed by the team that created the token. Brave is a free browser, which claims to load 3-6 times faster than competing offerings, as it only serves ads if the user chooses to view them. Brave browser users can sign up for the Brave Rewards program, which allows them to be paid in BAT to view ads or send BAT to content creators whose work they want to support. Brave's default setting is to block trackers and ads. It only fires ads if the user chooses. Brave then serves native ads from trusted partners, which users are rewarded in BAT for viewing.
2. Brave Micropayments Ledger
To track BAT movements, Brave uses the Brave Micropayments Ledger. The idea is that the Brave Micropayments Ledger will allow advertisers, publishers, and readers to enter into smart contracts to move payments between one another. Brave is exploring the use of zero-knowledge proofs for its blockchain, with the aim of providing anonymity to stakeholders in online media transactions.  What Are BAT Tokens? BAT is the native utility token used in the Basic Attention Token ecosystem. This token operates on the Brave web browser. BAT itself uses the ERC-20 token standard that runs and is distributed on the Ethereum (ETH) network. BAT is the native utility token used in the Basic Attention Token ecosystem. This token operates on the Brave web browser. BAT itself uses the ERC-20 token standard that runs and is distributed on the Ethereum (ETH) network. BAT is also a limited asset, with only 1,500,000,000 BAT coins in circulation. Furthermore, no new tokens will be created after Brave distributes 300 million BAT which is set aside to drive user growth.

What is the Price of BAT Tokens?
The current price of BAT is $0.9894. All Time High $1.65 (Apr 09, 2021) and ranks 85th on Coinmarketcap, Max Supply 1,500,000,000 BAT, Circulating Supply 1.49bn BAT, Market Cap $1,474,537,177

BAT Price Prediction

Experts predict the price of crypto will be $1,175 on Nov 22, 2021, and will be $1,410 within a year. It seems that BAT will be less profitable if used as a long-term investment.

Types of Cryptocurrency Exchange

Last Update Dec 03, 2022

What is a cryptocurrency exchange?
Cryptocurrency exchanges are websites where you can buy, sell or exchange cryptocurrencies for other digital currency or traditional currency like US dollars or Euro. For those that want to trade professionally and have access to fancy trading tools, you will likely need to use an exchange that requires you to verify your ID and open an account. If you just want to make the occasional, straightforward trade, there are also platforms that you can use that do not require an account.

Generally there are three types of Cryptocurrency Exchange
1. Traditional Exchange
Traditional Cryptocurrency Exchange where buyers and sellers trade based on
the current market price of cryptocurrencies (with the exchange playing the
middle-man). These type of trading platforms generally take a fee from each
transaction. Some of these exchange types also allow users to convert fiat
currency like the U.S. dollar into cryptocurrency like Bitcoin at the market
    price.

2. Direct Cryptocurrency Exchange (Direct Trading)
Type of Direct Cryptocurrency Exchange offer offer direct person to person
trading where individuals from different countries can exchange currency.
Direct trading exchanges don’t have a fixed market price, instead, each seller
    sets their own exchange rate.

3. Brokers
That is a Cryptocurrency Exchange site that anyone can visit to buy
cryptocurrencies at a price set by the broker.  (generally at the market price
    plus a small premium).

Decentralized Crypto Exchange (DEX) vs Centralized Exchange (CEX)

What is Decentralized Crypto Exchange (DEX)?
Decentralized exchange (DEX) is a crypto exchange peer-to-peer (P2P) that can directly connect crypto buyers and sellers. The DEX platform is non-custodial, where users store crypto in (privacy wallets) and keep their private keys safe while transacting. But not all DEXs implement the same platform, because there are still many DEXs that maintain old features such as Order Books and use liquidity protocols.

3 Types of DEX
Based on the implementation of the features and ways of working that we encounter in the crypto market, there are 3 types of DEX as follows:

1. Order Book
DEX Order Book is the first generation of dex, almost the same as conventional CEX, this order book compiles a record of all open buy-sell orders for certain assets. The difference between these prices determines the depth of the order book and the prevailing market price. On DEXs with order books, this information is often stored on-chain during transactions, while your funds are still stored off-chain in your wallet.

2. Swaps
The second generation of DEXs do not use Order Books but use a liquidity pool protocol to determine crypto prices. On P2P networks, the transaction process will execute the user's wallet instantly, or better known as Swap.

3. Decentralized Exchange Aggregator
Usually decentralized exchanges use a number of different protocols and ways of working. While these dynamics result in greater security and autonomy, they result in non-fluent liquidity across platforms.

Once again, check everything attentively. Note that the amount is estimated, so it may be more or less in the end of your transaction. If you’re OK with this, proceed to the next step. Now your transaction is created. You see a QR code and a wallet address below. This is the address you should send us your money to be exchanged. Go to the wallet from where you should send money and paste this address into a corresponding field. If you use a mobile wallet app, just scan the QR. Once we receive your money, we’ll exchange it and sent to the address you provided in the step 3.

In your transaction history, you may see the status of your transaction. Once it’s finished, you’ll be informed. Usually it takes 5-30 minutes. In some cases, waiting time might be increased. After a transaction is finished, you get a receipt with an output transaction hash This hash is a proof that your transaction is finished. What is the maximal/minimal amount? Changelly doesn’t have amount restrictions. However, there are some nuances. If an amount is too low, make sure that it will cover all the network fees a blockchain takes. It means that the amount you are going to send and the amount you are going to get should be enough to cover input and output network fees taken by a blockchain.

Bitcoin for Charity

Bitcoin as a peer-to-peer currency without intermediaries can be used for charity. Giving donations directly to the recipient without intermediaries, becomes easier and of course transparent without cheating. Although we can donate Bitcoin anywhere both individuals and organizations. A mosque in Britain’s capital is willing to receive your donation - in bitcoin. The Shacklewell Lane Mosque in Dalston, east London, has decided to accept bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in a bid to widen its donor base and cut down on currency conversion fees, mosque leaders said.

Donations in the form of crypto are also accepted by one of the crowdfunding platforms from Indonesia, Ayobantu. Ayobantu CEO Agnes Yuliavitriani said that Ayobantu, as a fundraising startup, accepts bitcoin as a form of donation. With the presence of crypto, this will make it easier for people who want to donate and share goodness. The Ayobantu party just needs to convert from crypto assets to local money. Donations with crypto will facilitate and speed up transactions as well as transparency in accordance with the characteristics of blockchain technology itself.

One of the digital asset trading platforms, Zipmex Indonesia, is raising funds through the #ZMTuntukNTT program. This movement is Zipmex's campaign for Indonesia, a movement whose vision is to help victims of the Seroja cyclone disaster in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Unlike conventional charities, where the progress of a program is difficult to verify, smart contracts on blockchain can be used to ensure that donations are only channeled to organizations when they can prove that what they are doing is making a good impact. Failure to reach the target may even result in the donation being revoked. This concept has been tested by St Mungo's. charity for the homeless in London. St Mungo's teamed up with blockchain platform Alice to launch a fundraiser with the aim of raising $66,000 to help 15 homeless people rebuild their lives. In this program, donors can monitor the progress of the homeless by verified progress by local authorities.
